My gas bill is not likely to hit 11 zillion dollars this month. We've got one more potentially awful month to get through and then the worst is over. It was $334 in December and it could hit $500 with extreme cold weather. But late December/January has been very, very mild.

So this has definitely been a relief.

Canada just elected a pro-U.S. conservative (I know, I know about the liberal scandal - don't spoil my fun)
Germany elected a pro-U.S. conservative
Australia re-elected a pro-U.S. conservative
England re-elected Tony Blair despite his pro-U.S. ties

But on the other hand:
Latin American nations are turning to Cuban socialism
Russia is returning to Soviet communism
Spain has elected a Socialist government
France has elected nut-case, wackos as usual
North Korea has elected.......nevermind that one
China is moving towards greater freedoms - though still a loooong way from free

The world is interesting, but never still

I feel terribly for the miners and their families in West Virginia. But I worry that a 3rd disaster might come. It seems like these things come in three's. But that's just nonsense, right?

Iran wants to nuke Israel, Bin Laden wants to destroy Americans in their homes, the U.N. is corrupt, Europe is inept, China is evil.

So the #1 issue to Democrats is whether or not the government is violating the civil rights of terrorists?

If a terrorist calls me at my house, the government had BETTER be listening in to what they say.
