Hey, it's a great milestone.

This is me doing a happy dance

Ok, it's more of a sideways neck strain, but just the same.

Thanks to all who've come here.

 Most believed outrageious lies

I'd like to get your opinions on the best, most outrageous lies that have found common acceptance among Republicans or Democrats in the world of politics.

I'll start us off with:

1) Bush knew about 9/11 beforehand and did nothing about it
2) Bush had explosives put into the levees so he could flood the black areas of New Orleans
3) The Iraq war was about
a) His Daddy
b) Oil
c) Imperialism
d) Killing Arabs

Thoughts?

 Senate poll update

Rasmussen updates their polls of the President's approval rating (49) daily and frequently updates quite a few Senate and Governors races.

The interesting ones today are:
Mike Dewine taking a 9 point lead in Ohio
Jim Talent taking the lead in Missouri
Katherine Graham gaining Republican support in Florida (down 9)
Tom Kean down 3 pts to Menendez in New Jersey

I get a real sense of Republican momentum in these numbers. Outside of PA, where they'll pick up one seat, and Montana (Burns), where they are perpetually hopeful and disappointed, they were really counting on picking up Ohio and Missouri, while not losing any of their own. Only PA looks like a lock right now.

Let me say, here and now, that if Republicans wind up gaining seats in the U.S. Senate this year, all-out civil war will result in the Democratic party and it will begin to disintegrate.

Hysteria and a poke in the eye

I had to laugh. I still laugh every time I think about it.

The MSM hates Bush and Cheney. They don't dislike them. They don't mistrust them. They don't have a different viewpoint than them.

They hate them.

And they saw an opportunity to embarrass the VP and, by extension "W", by making this hunting accident into a scandal.

So they launch into hysterics in a White House briefing (just how much credibility does David Gregory have left?). Then the talking heads begin to launch conspiracy theories.

But then they hit gold. They could accuse Dick Cheney of being drunk. That's the ticket. He must have been drunk. We'll just suggest it (might as well suggest that Bill Clinton was celibate) and we'll start the rumor and a lot of people will believe it. That'll put the White House on the defensive. That'll be fun!

But then it got funny. Really, really funny.

What does the liberal media hate as much - maybe even more - than the Bush administration? Yep. Fox News. So, Dick Cheney must have thought, "Ok, if they're going to make this the biggest news of the 21st century, I'm going to make them pay". He then gives an exclusive interview to Fox News. They hit 2.1MM viewers and got hundreds of thousands of households who never, ever watch Fox news to switch over to that network. Some will never go back.

Jim Cafferty at CNN fell to unprecedented vulgarity over the issue (wonder why most Christians don't vote for Democrats?). Bitterness spewed at every other network. I wonder if it would have been an outrage if Bill Clinton had given the Monica exclusive to CNN? Nope. Remember Bill & Hillary on 60 minutes? On Larry King? These were exclusives.

So I have to laugh. They got shot with their own gun (pun intended). And they deserved every bit of it. Now the "news" is not only the shooting incident, but Brit Hume as well. No publicity is bad publicity. Unless you created it for your bitter enemy.

Too funny.

 Saddam = Nixon

A corrupt President forced from power. Now tapes reveal the inner workings of his regime.

Sounds familiar.
