With the promise of wiping out the foreign fighters responsible for the bulk of the most damaging terror attacks, the Iraqi government should honor their request and arm the insurgents.

• The insurgents who fought alongside the foreign fighters know exactly where they are and who they are.
• The insurgents have watched these foreign fighters kill Iraqi women and children..not to mention kidnap and torture and have a strong desire to exact revenge.
• The insurgents have come to the table and have been negotiating with the new Iraqi government on becoming a part of the political process. Like it or not, these folks have to be part of the process.

In any event, this signals yet another major problem for terrorists in Iraq. Those who have been your allies may be secretly negotiating your death. And for Bin Laden and the Iranian leaders, this is dreadful news, because you could see your own network greatly damaged and compromised even while losing the biggest prize of all....Iraq.

I have long wanted to see Iraq announce a week-long pre-amnesty for killing foreign fighters. Any foreigner who has killed or worked with the insurgency would be free "game" for the Iraqi people. They are best equipped to wipe them out and send a message to the rest of the Arab world that wants them to host terror in their homes for their own perverted reasons.

This is just what the doctor ordered.

I fully expect this years deficit to be dramatically below the $600 billion that Democratic leadership had predicted just two years ago. It will probably run about $300 billion. They said the tax cuts would bury us in debt - but they never have understood the economic boom that follows tax cuts.

It turns out that receipts have risen more in each of the last two years than they did in any of the preceding 25 years. And the 5.6% GDP growth rate from Q1 will only add to that.

Through April, spending was up 7.6% while tax receipts were up 11.2%. This closed the deficit by $53 billion over what they had projected.

Imagine this deficit without Iraq and Afghanistan - without Katrina - without the new Medicare drug program. Not to mention without $3.00 gasoline.

This economy is in fantastic shape here on the 4th of July.

More radical Sunni groups (not to mention foreign groups) are in talks with the government to end the violence.
