 If Lebanon's government falls....

...will other Arab countries step up to keep Syria and Iran from further destabilizing the region?

Will the U.N. shed it's worthlessness and actually do something?

Will Democrats have the stomach to do something about it before (or when) the Syrians and Iranians attack Israel?

Will the New York Times leak America's battle plans if we do go to war?

Will they give the locations of our troops during battle to try and damage President Bush?

NYT not content to hurt security - now damages peace hopes

The NYT is now responsible for Iraqi deaths and American soldiers deaths.

They've printed, for all the world to see, an internal memo critical of the democratically elected President of Iraq from a Bush National Security Advisor on the eve of a Bush meeting with him.

The only possible benefit it would have for the NYT is to damage President Bush.  And in the meantime our men and women die and more Iraqi men and women die which I can only say is directly due to their hatred of President Bush (and by extension, America, freedom and decency at the moment).  They've shot with buckshot and damaged many worthwhile things while carrying out their almost deranged war against President Bush.

As far as I'm concerned, they've now proven themselves an enemy of America and an enemy of peace and I will only refer to them as the heinous, terroristic, bloody New York Times.

There is responsibility in publishing.  And they are now fully responsible.  And fully treasonous.

 What is Islam?

After all this time, I must admit that I don't understand Islam very well.

I'm confused by the label "peaceful religion" while watching them blow each other up daily in many countries. I'm confused by the hatred between sects and the acceptance/rejection of the Jewish people in different writings. I'm confused by the intense oppression by the imams and the wealthy. I'm always confused by people willing to send their children to die. I'm confused by a religion that seems to condone lying for the cause.

I'm impressed with a religion that stirs up such devotion via prayer, memorization of the Koran and discipline of lifestyle.  And I'm impressed with a religion that has generosity so deeply stamped on it (even if it's only internal).

I have to learn better where they came from and why they do what they do.

I know it can't all be based solely on hatred of the Jews and, by extension, America.  But then, I don't know.  And are they bent on world domination via slaugther and torture?  That would be important to know.

It's time for me to wipe the slate clean and learn the truth about Islam.  Any good insights would be appreciated. I have a pretty good understanding of Judaism and Jewish history from a Christian point of view.  But Islam is more a mystery to me now than it was five years ago.

Syria shows what withdrawal would look like

Today's assassination of a Christian political leader in Lebanon shows the overt spread of Syrian terror in the Middle East. It comes the day after the U.N. voted to support the investigation of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, which will inevitably point to the human slaughter brain trust in Syria. So today's terrorist action shows Syria's mocking attitude towards any authority that doesn't drop bombs on its head.

Iran only plays with the U.N. in order to threateningly suck resources based clearly on the fact that they will reincarnate Hitler given the chance.  Only serious strength will stop these people.

Giving Iran and Syria a say in Iraqi affairs is foolhardy and is exactly the opposite of what we should do.  What we really need is for the rest of the world to wake up to the fact that they are next.  It's that simple.

Europe's willingness to sacrifice Israel to Iran and Syria (via Hezbollah for now, but directly in due time) is not eerily reminiscent of Europe in the 1930's - it's precisely Europe in the 1930's.  Only then it was the Jews and the Poles and the Hungarians.

The Congressional Democrats have to prove that they can fight terrorism effectively and immediately without the support of the appeasers across the Atlantic.  It's not a minority political game anymore.  It's on them.  And it's urgent.

 Ah...vacation

There are a few things on the schedule, but it should be a nice, relaxing week.

Thanksgiving gives us a chance to host my wife's family. We'll be taking part in a coat drive for the poor on Saturday morning and possibly Monday evening. I'll have a chance to immerse myself in my bible reading which has been a little sporadic lately and there will be plenty of opportunities for naps, matinee movies, stock watching and laughter.

God bless all of you. God bless Congress and the President.

I hope we all have a terrific week.
