 Finally, it happened

I paid $1.98 a gallon for gas. And all signs point to continued declines in the cost of gas.  Rising inventories, warm weather, no hurricanes, world demand below forecasts, stability in production, new production coming on line - all keep the downward pressure on prices that are still too high based on pure and simple fear.

Here's what you won't hear until next Wednesday, after the election.

  • The decline in the cost of gas will eliminate the Fed's need to raise interest rates.
  • The decline will add 1 - 2 points to GDP growth in 2007.
  • The decline will result in many more jobs for Americans in 2007.
  • The decline will mean American families will receive, in essensce, a $250 a month raise in take-home pay (my estimate @ $60 savings each week per family - not counting lower heating bills).
  • The decline will drop our trade deficit dramatically.
  • The effects of the decline will be a continued reduction in the federal budget deficit.

You won't hear the good news until the election is over.  But it's real.  And it's real good.

It gets even worse!!! CNN tells a big whopping lie!

CNN has just underdone itself with a shamelessly dishonest positioning in a news flash. Look at this! Read it close. They must think we're as stupid as Kerry think the military is. The statement reads:

-- Sen. John Kerry issues a statement saying: "I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended" by comments he made about being "stuck in Iraq."

"Stuck in Iraq"?  Are we idiots?  Did Kerry offend the military by saying they were "stuck in Iraq"?

He called them stupid.  Stupid. Stupid.  Stupid.

He said "if you make an effort to be smart....." then you won't wind up in Iraq like the military folks.

And CNN is shamelessly trying to hide his ungodly, perniciuos, nasty insult to help Democrats avoid taking a major hit the week before the election.

How dishonest is CNN?

Thoroughly.

See why Fox News is so much more popular than CNN?

 Imagine this...

Imagine if every Republican (and reasonable human being) in Tennessee knew that their Democratic Senator-would-be thinks Republicans don't love the Lord.

Imagine if every family with a military member in harm's way knew that John Kerry thinks people in the military are there because they're stupid (his word) and didn't try to become smart or make anything of themselves.

Imagine if every family in America knew that a Democratic Senate would honor a new Senate Majority leader who has a history of ethics problems - most recently clear violations of Senate ethics rules regarding financial reporting and a highly questionable sweetheart land deal.  The kind that make politicians rich off of you and me.

To really imagine the impact of these things, you have to think back to the CBS faked papers that they attacked President Bush with two years ago.  You have to remember that CBS said they wouldn't even investigate to see if they were fake after unimpeachable evidence had proven them so.

The mainstream media won't let these things gain light of day.  They want the Democrats in power so they're hiding the corruption, arrogance and pompous self-righteousness that permeates the leadership of that party.

  • They're talking about Mark Foley (who was forced out) but not Barney Frank who's pages allegedly ran a male prostitiution ring out of his townhome, and who is still in the Democrats leadership plans.
  • They're talking about Duke Cunningham (who was forced out) but not William Jefferson , who was caught taking bribes and with $90k in his freezer this past spring, and who is on the Democrats leadership team.
  • They're talking about Tom DeLay, who was forced out,  but not Alcee Hastings - impeached from the judiiciary for taking bribes and who will be heading a committee for the Democrats.
  • They're talking about Bob Ney, who was forced out, but not Harry Reid, who has had alleged ethics violations regarding campaign funds, the Indian population and, this summer, shady land deals that enriched him.
  • They're talking about Republicans who are no longer around (and are gone for a good reason) but not Harold Ford's family history steeped in corruption - most recently his aunt was kicked out of the State House when it was discovered that dead people, non-residents and multiple voting residents pushed her over the top in her last election. Or his fathers financial windfall from a company that does business with the government that Harold influences on one of his committees.  And Harold would be one of their rising stars.

Corruption, arrogance and nastiness have congealed at the heart of the Democratic party.  While the Republicans are purged, the Democrats seem unfazed by their ethically bankrupt members.  In fact, they reward them with leadership positions.

Imagine if the media would mention these things.

 Kerry insults the military........again

These guys truly do not want to win. This is only 10 seconds long, but it's amazing.

Kerry insult starts another bruhaha

This guys arrogance and nastiness are so thinly veiled I am still dumbfounded that a major party thought America might honor him with its highest office.

It has started a firestorm of protests.  First from McCain and then from Tony Snow.  I'm sure it won't end there.  Can the NYT bury this?  Would they bury it if Guiliani said it?

We all know the answer to that.

Just when you think he might win

Harold Ford does something like this (from Youtube):

Democrats love the Lord; Republicans don't

Candidates like Ford and George Allen will have learned a very tough lesson about You Tube and today's electronic electorate.  When you say things to a group of like-minded folks and you don't filter your words, you're going to wind up being broadcast to those very folks most likely to view you as superficial, dishonest, condescending or worse.

Ford trails by 8% in the most recent poll.

Still, there is one more week and this one has taken many twists and turns.
